ArticleElphoton’s W2C® technology enables semiconductor chips, including UVC-LEDs, to operate directly in water by fundamentally redesigning electrode architecture and passivation to eliminate corrosion and moisture-induced failure. This approach removes the need for bulky hermetic packaging, reducing thermal resistance, optical loss, and overall BOM cost while improving reliability and enabling ultra-compact modules.
